The 2018 Governor’s Cup 10K will be run at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 9.

The Governor’s Cup 10K course starts in downtown Helena at the corner of Cruse and 6th and finishes on the Capital City’s historic Last Chance Gulch. The challenging course features stunning views of Mount Helena, the State Capitol and other historic sites in the Capital City.

• Dogs, bicycles, skateboards, and roller blades are not allowed on the courses. Watch for vehicles on the road at all times.
• Starts in downtown Helena at the corner of Cruse and 6th and finishes on the Walking Mall in historic Downtown Helena.

  • 1/1/2-18-2/28/2018: $20 (early bird)
  • 3/1/2018-5/31/2018: $25 (regular)
  • 6/1/2018-6/8/2018: $30 (late)

There are no refunds for cancellation. Registration will not be available on race day. Packets cannot be mailed to participants.

5 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Helena Chamber of Commerce, 225 Cruse Avenue The Helena Chamber of Commerce is located at the corner of 6th Avenue and Cruse Avenue in downtown Helena, near the starting line.  Parking is limited in the downtown area as well as along the race course.

Start Times

• Marathon − 6 a.m. (participants must take bus to start; course closes at noon)
 Half Marathon − 7 a.m. (participants must take bus to start; course closes at noon)
• 10K − 8 a.m.
• 5K − 10 a.m.
 Kids Marathon and Fun Run – 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 8 at Centennial Park

• Award categories for the 2018 Governor’s Cup are as follows for men and women with a total prize purse of $5,320. Top-three placers in the below three categories will receive specific medals along with a monetary award (detailed below) in the form of a Visa gift card.

Participant Information

Starting Line-Up

All participants are asked to line up according to their anticipated finishing times. Please be considerate of your fellow runners: Slower runners, walkers, and baby stroller participants please start toward the end of the line to allow elite racers a smooth start.


Portable restrooms will be located every 3 miles on the marathon and half marathon courses, frequently on all other races, and at the start and finish lines.

Water Stations

Water stations are available every three miles along the marathon and half marathon and frequently along all other courses. We highly encourage all participants to hydrate before, during, and after the race.
